Safety

Strangers, sure. But not blind ones. Here is what the app does, and what you can do.

Before anyone meets

  • Everyone is verified. A phone, a card, and a selfie checked against an ID by our verification partner before anyone accepts an ask or asks for something above $20.
  • You can read a person at a glance. First name, a check, and a handoff count. No stars, no bios, no photos. A high count means a lot of strangers have already met this person and it went fine.
  • New people are eased in. Someone with fewer than three handoffs cannot take asks above $40.

Where you meet

  • Public corners only. Meeting spots are picked by us, on the sidewalk, at least 40 metres from the shop door, in the open. There is no free-text address.
  • Daylight and foot traffic. Launch lines are busy places at busy hours. That is the point.
  • You see each other coming. On the walk, both people see the other's dot. It turns off the moment the codes match.

The handoff

  • Four characters. The person who asked shows a code. The person in line types it. Money moves only when it matches. Nobody has to hand over a phone.
  • A ten-minute window. If one person does not show, the other is looked after: refunded in full, or paid in full, depending on who was there.
  • Nothing to argue about. The receipt sets the price. The code settles the handoff. If the item is wrong, tap "That's not what I asked for" and you do not pay for it.

If something feels off

  • You never have to go through with a handoff. Cancel from the app and walk away. Before the item is bought, cancelling is free. After, the rules on the terms page apply, and a person on our team can look at it.
  • Tap "Something's not right?" on any ask. A person replies within about 15 minutes during launch hours.
  • If you feel unsafe, call 911 first. Then tell us.
  • Two notes on an account in 30 days pause it for a week. Three end it. We take reports seriously and we act on them.

Things we will never do

  • Send you to someone's home or ask you to go inside anywhere.
  • Show your live location to anyone except the person you are meeting, and only on the walk.
  • Show your phone number, your email, or your last name.
  • Rush you. There is no timer on saying yes, and no penalty for passing.
