Privacy

Effective 1 October 2026. This is the long version of What we keep. Read that one first.

Who we are

already is run by Goldlabs Holdings, LLC, 110 Remsen St 3C, Brooklyn, NY 11201. When we say we, us or already, we mean that company; it decides what is collected and why. When we say you, we mean anyone using the app or this website. Write to hello@joinalready.com about anything on this page.

What we collect and why

  • Account. Phone number, first name, and an email if you give us one. To sign you in, to send receipts, and so people can find each other on the corner.
  • Verification. A yes-or-no result and a date from our verification partner, who checks a selfie against an ID. We never receive the selfie or the ID and we never store them. To keep the person on the corner the person on the screen.
  • Payment. A token from our payments partner that represents your card, and, if you accept asks, a connected account for payouts. We never see card numbers. To place a hold when someone accepts your ask and to capture it when the codes match.
  • Asks. The item, the shop, the thank-you, the fee, the receipt price, the meeting spot, who was on each side and when each step happened. This is the record of a purchase between two people and the money that moved for it.
  • Receipts. The photo you snap, plus the line we read from it. Kept 90 days for disputes, then deleted.
  • Location. While you are marked In line, a coarse position about once a minute so we know you are still at the shop. During a handoff, both people's live position, shared only with each other, only until the codes match. Rounded to about 11 metres. Deleted after 24 hours. Your position in line is a number you type.
  • Device. A push token so we can tell you when someone's got it, and basic crash reports so we can fix things.
  • Website. Page views and button taps, counted without cookies or identifiers.

What other people see

Your first name, a small check once you are verified, and your handoff count. During an ask, the person on the other side also sees your clothing description and, on the walk to the meeting point, where you are. Nobody sees your phone number, your email, your ratings, or a score.

Who we share with

  • Our payments partner, to place holds, capture them and pay people out. It has its own privacy notice, shown when you add a card or set up payouts.
  • Our verification partner, to confirm you are who you say. It keeps the selfie and the ID under its own notice.
  • Our receipt reader, to turn a photo into a price.
  • Providers that send texts and pushes, host our servers and store receipts.
  • Card networks and banks when a charge is disputed, with the receipt, the code-match log and the distance between the two phones at the match.
  • Authorities when the law requires it, and only what it requires.

We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for anyone else's advertising.

How long we keep things

Account details while you have an account. Ask records indefinitely, as financial records. Receipts 90 days. Location 24 hours. Clothing descriptions until midnight. Push tokens until you sign out.

Your choices

  • Turn location and notifications off in your phone's settings. The map will not show lines near you, and you will not hear when someone's got it, but the app still works.
  • Turn off each kind of notification separately under You in the app.
  • Ask for a copy of your data or ask us to delete it, in the app or by email. Deletion takes up to 30 days. Financial records stay with your name and number removed, because the law says they have to.

Age

You must be 18 or older to use already at launch. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; if we learn we have, we delete it.

Security

Money and identity are handled by partners built for that. Codes are compared in constant time and locked after three wrong tries. Receipts sit in a private store. Nothing here is perfect; if you find a problem, email us and we will take it seriously.

Changes

If we change this page in a way that matters, we tell you in the app before it takes effect.
